Aghamore GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Aghamore, County Mayo in Ireland. It takes in players from the Villages of Aghamore, County Mayo and Tooreen, as well as a portion of Kilkelly. The majority of people from the neighbouring parish of Knock also play football with Aghamore. It focuses primarily on Gaelic football, with hurling within the parish done with Tooreen Hurling Club The club competes at senior level in the Mayo Senior Football Championship. The club competes in Ladies' Gaelic football under the same name in the Junior championship
History
[edit]Gaelic football has a long tradition of being played within the parish of Aghamore. The first known club within the parish was called Annagh Rovers, due to being formed within the townland of Annagh. After the re-drawing of county and parish boundaries in 1898, the townland of Annagh was transferred from Aghamore parish to Ballyhaunis parish, which took on the name Annagh
